Mature Students

You can also apply for a 16-25 Railcard if you're 26 or over and in full time study.
To be eligible you will need:
- To attend a recognised college or university, for over 15 hours a week, at least 20 weeks a year. We’re sorry but Open University, distance learning and part-time courses do not qualify.
- To have the mature student section of the 16-25 Railcard application form completed by your College or University.
- Proof of identity – only an NUS card or College/University photocard will be accepted as proof of identity.
Mature students can now apply online, but you will need to submit evidence of your eligibility when applying. You will need to upload the signed Mature Student declaration and a scanned copy of your student photocard, as well as a passport-style photo.
You can also buy a 16-25 Railcard in person, by presenting your completed 16-25 Railcard application form and proof of identity to a staffed station ticket office or National Rail-licensed Travel Agent. You will also need to take with you a passport-style photo.
When you login you can update your details, renew your Railcard, report a Railcard as lost / stolen, or buy a Railcard for someone else.
