1. Will I get a reminder when my Railcard is about to expire?

If we hold a valid email address or postal address for you, we will send you a reminder.


2. Where can I renew my Railcard?

It's easy to renew your Railcard online - go to Renew your railcard.  You can also renew by phone, or at your nearest station ticket office.

You can also renew your Railcard at a station. You'll need to complete the application form, and take your existing Railcard and Photocard. These will automatically be accepted as proof of age.

To renew by phone, just call 08457 48 49 50 and ask for your nearest Train Company's telesales number (calls are charged at a local rate and may be recorded).

You can only renew your 3-year 16-25 Railcard online.


3. How do I renew my Railcard online?

 

If you haven't bought a Railcard online before:
You will be treated as a new customer. Just click on “Buy 16-25 Railcard now” to buy a Railcard.

Then, simply follow the onscreen intsructions. You will need to supply a valid email address and a password.

You can only buy one Railcard per email address – as your email address is your unique reference.

You will need:

  • a valid email address
  • a full postal delivery address (address to which you would like your Railcard to be delivered)
  • a valid passport or driving licence number to verify your eligibility online
  • a digital passport style photo saved on your computer (to upload during the application process)
  • a debit/credit card

Complete the online application process, and once you’ve paid online you will get an email confirmation from us, together with acknowledgement of your application number.

Your new Railcard will be despatched within one working day and sent free by First Class post.

Please leave sufficient time for your Railcard to arrive with you. Your card will be desptached within one working day but it is subject to the postal service.

If you bought your last Railcard online:

Simply click on Renew Your Railcard, you will be asked to login with your email address and password.

Check your detailsare correct and then pay securely. You won't need proof of identification or a photo, as we have these already.

Your new Railcard will be processed within one working day and sent free by First Class post.


4. Can I renew my Railcard in advance?

You can renew your Railcard up to one month in advance of its expiry date (providing there is no break in continuity) at a station ticket office or over the phone.

You can only renew in advance online if you bought your last Railcard online. If you're buying online for the first time, your Railcard will start from the date of purchase, not from the renewal date. So we advise buying it as close to your renewal date as possible.
